The Hill Country
Has been seeing
Rain
In August
Those who have been here
Know
It is strange to see
But good to see
So long as it rains as it has rained
Here
And not in other places
Or as in other times
Here
I am not complaining
I am pleased to see
The hills of oak and cedar
Still green
Instead of
Brown
Dry
Dusty
Gasping
As is normally the case
And I have to hope
The wildflowers will
Thrive
