The summer sun drives many things,
Including folks inside,
For they know what the sunlight brings,
And they would from it hide.
I know I stand among them. I
Have known the sunlight's kiss
Across my flesh, under the sky;
I do not it miss.
Unlike many, I will act
When I have sunlight fled,
An offering to seal the pact
I have with daylight made.
