Yet those who serve the Stupid God have this,
That they well do what their devotion is,
For to act stupidly does take no whiz;
It needs but only doing as was done
In early days when things had scarce begun
To be improved from their initial one.
It takes no skill to stay in but one place,
To from new knowledge turn away one's face,
To be wrong rather than have to replace
What was known before with better known--
To admit that what was had ere grown
Might not be such as should be carved in stone.
And with such ease comes struggle to amend,
To make such change as on which right depends.
