Worms eat the pages

Moths assail the cloth bindings

Roaches root in the paper

Fire and flood can consume the lot

And so we turn to pixels to preserve

What writing there is

And what writing there will be

But they are delicate things

And it may well be that the papers endure longer in the end

Until the end

And an end is certain to come
